Below is an example of a typical management tip:
Using praise to motivate people
Example management tip
Many managers think that there is no need to praise people for just doing their job, but praise can be used very effectively to keep people motivated.
By praising their contribution it makes people feel good about themselves and want to work for you as a manager.
However, when using praise to motivate people, do not qualify it. For example just say: “Well done.” Do not say something like “Well done – lets have it like this tomorrow as well.”
Qualifying praise can make it negative to the listener even if you meant it to be positive!
